How do I set and manage budgets?
Set monthly spending limits by category and get alerted when you're close.
Budgets let you set a monthly spending limit for any spending category. Avenue tracks your actual spending against each limit in real time.
Setting a budget
- Go to /budgets from the nav.
- Choose a category (Food & Drink, Shopping, Transportation, etc.).
- Enter a monthly dollar limit and click Save.
- Your current month's spending in that category immediately appears alongside the limit.

- Transportation

- Entertainment
- Subscriptions
- Bills & Utilities
- Healthcare
- Home Improvement
- Loan Payments
- Other
Budget alerts on the dashboard
When you reach 80% of a budget limit, a warning appears on your dashboard. At 100% (over budget), it turns red. You'll also receive SMS alerts if your phone is set up.
Editing or removing a budget
Click the edit icon next to any budget to change the limit, or click remove to delete it entirely. Changes take effect immediately.
