How do I set up SMS alerts and the daily digest?
Get budget alerts and a morning financial summary sent to your phone.
Avenue can text you budget alerts when you're close to a spending limit, and send a daily morning summary of your balances and recent activity.
Setting up your phone number
- Go to Settings and find the "SMS Alerts" section.
- Enter your mobile number and click Send Code.
- Enter the 6-digit verification code you receive.
- Your number is now verified.
Daily digest
Once your phone is verified, enable the Daily Digest in Settings. You'll receive a morning text (default 9:00 AM ET) with your current balances, yesterday's top transactions, and a spending summary. You can change the delivery time in the Digest Scheduler.
Budget alerts
- You'll receive a text when you hit 80% of any budget limit.
- You'll receive another text when you hit 100% (over budget).
- Alerts only fire if you have a verified phone and at least one budget set.
Asking questions via SMS
Text any financial question to your Avenue number and the AI assistant will reply. Example: "How much did I spend on gas this month?" Same as the chat panel, but via text.
